Featuring keynote speaker Thavisouk Phrasavath from The Betrayal (Nerakhoon). The ALEC is a free educational conference mainly for middle and high school students and their parents in the Greater Sacramento area. However, interested individuals from within and outside of the Sacramento area are also welcome to register and attend. Enjoy Lunch, Entertainment, Workshop Activities, Games, Prizes, and more!

LAAO 2nd Annual Banquet Fundraiser

The Lao American Advancement Organization proudly presents The 2nd Annual LAAO Banquet Fundraiser: Soaring to New Heights.

The purpose of LAAO’s Annual Banquet Fundraiser is to raise funds for student scholarships and awards for the Annual Lao Educational Conferences and also to raise funds for other events and activities that will advance the Lao Community in Sacramento.

This year’s banquet will feature LAO FOOD!, the very popular Lao Band Khongsedone, Lao traditional dances, musicians, and fashion show, Muay Thai/Lao Demonstrations, spoken word artists & special musical appearance by singer Daniel D.

COME EARLY TO SIGN-UP AND COMPETE IN ALL THE GAMES!!! : ) LUNCH BEGINS AT 12:00 NOON. Join the first XXX SPICY PAPAYA SALAD EATING CONTEST, begins at 12:15PM.

Lao American Advancement Organization (LAAO) is hosting its 1st Annual Lao Community Picnic. Join us for a day of FREE FOOD, Games, Sports, Prizes, and Music. Competition and contest include badminton, volleyball, soccer, kathaw (tekraw) and a obstacle relay race. Feel free to bring your own equipment. We will also be serving lunch, but it will be limited, so come early or bring your own goodies to enjoy. Lunch will also feature a LAAO XXX Spicy Papaya Salad Eating Contest. So if you can eat the heat, feel free to enter. This is an open event, feel free to bring both your family and friends to join us for a great day in the park!

The following are game competitions and time. Note that the rules of LAAO games may differ from the rules that are played by professionals.

2009 Lao Grad Party

LAAO (Lao American Advancement Organization) is recognizing our Lao high school and college graduates by throwing them a party, JOIN US! There will be dance performances, graduate announcements, raffle prizes, Lao food, music and social dancing by Khongsedone Band. Bring your own cd mix and the band will play it.

Advance tickets are $10 each. Admittance tickets at the door is $15 each.
